Our PhilosophyOur HistoryFrom artist to angler, birdwatcher to beach-bum, we all look forward to something special on Nantucket. Come summer, the island offers each of us an opportunity to get away from the daily grind and catch a breath of fresh air. Nantucket is a place that seems to have something for everyone and, with good reason, has become the perfect vacation destination for families and friends. In 2004, a small group of teachers realized that despite being family-friendly in almost every other way, Nantucket lacked an educational resource for parents seeking to provide their children with summertime learning opportunities. With that, the Nantucket Learning Group was born. Today, the Learning Group has become the island's premier source for summertime education. Nantucket may lure you thirty miles from the mainland, but you’re still just a phone call away from some of New England's best educators. Our Mission At Nantucket Learning we believe that a strong education begins with a strong foundation. Emphasis, from our very first meeting, will be placed on building a base from which your child can grow. We realize that teaching students how to learn is the best lesson any teacher could offer. With that philosophy in mind, our educators take great pride in focusing on the students they teach, not just the subjects they teach. Our mission is simple: We aim to provide a learning experience that makes students as comfortable and confident as possible in the classroom. Through individually-oriented sessions, our teachers will work hard to introduce your child to an educational foundation upon which he or she can build next fall. Whether we're preparing students for college admissions or the first day of kindergarten, our talented educators and individual learning approach can help any child get caught up, get ahead, or simply enjoy summertime learning. |
